I Was A Child

Fall broke my fall from the summer Riding around with the king in the spokes of my bike Playing football out in the streets and we painted our own lines We'd stay out 'til the street lights came on I forget how long And your mother would holler for you to come home And another day lies ahead Days last for months and the month two years I remember a simpler time when I was a lot younger and had a lot less on my mind Lazy thoughts would drift away like the clouds in the sky

I was a child I was a child i remember being a child do you remember

School days came in September All I remember was skinning my knee on the rocks in the playground A swing in the setting The sun would be setting sooner and sooner each day We'd rake leaves and jump in the pile I'll never forget the day that I fractured my arm at your house Alarm in a cast and we laughed out loud Your sister came away I remember a simpler time when I was a lot younger and had a lot less on my mind Lazy thoughts would drift away like the clouds in the sky

I was a child I was a child I remember being a child Do you remember
